The Science of Golf Compatibility
A three-layer system turns assessment answers into actionable compatibility scores. Assessment-driven. Mathematically transparent.
Golf Personality Foundation
Every golfer takes our 18-question assessment measuring four personality dimensions — social energy, pace preference, information processing, and round purpose. These dimensions produce one of 16 golf personality types that capture how you actually play.
Dealbreaker Layer
Raw personality match is just the starting point. Six golf-specific behavioral preferences — alcohol, smoking, music, gambling, cart driving, and phone usage — create adjustment matrices that modify the base score. A music mismatch might cost 40 points. These aren't opinions — they're scored.
Match Precision
Personality base + dealbreaker adjustments + handicap proximity = a single compatibility score with full breakdown transparency. No black boxes. Every point in the score is traceable to a specific dimension, preference, or constraint.
Ways That MyGolfType Pairings Are Superior
Three things MyGolfType weighs when it builds your groups
Personality-Based Compatibility
We match all members by groups AND carts based on four personality dimensions: social energy, pace, information processing, and purpose, so golfers are grouped with complementary matches. Plus dealbreaker filtering for alcohol, swearing, music, and more.
Pace-Optimized Tee Sheet
We arrange your tee sheet by pace of play descending! Fastest groups tee off first, allowing more deliberate players to enjoy the sights and experiences at a pace that makes sense for them. No more bottlenecks or frustrated members.
Smart Handicap Matching
Optional handicap proximity filter keeps pairings skill-appropriate. Should a scratch player cart with a 22 handicapper? Our system can factor handicap levels into the pairings so skill gaps stay reasonable.
